Draglesque

Originally named Tongue Ty'd, Tygr Willy began their origins with such mentors such as Red Herring, Belle Jumelle, and James & the Giant Pasty, and rebranded to Tygr Willy through James' Boylesque 101 Workshop series. They've been performing professionally since February 2018, and have taken part in cabaret's, local and international festivals, fundraisers, and queer nightlife parties.

They've taken much of the teachings and lessons from their mentors and other mentors such as; Ravyn Wngz and Sze Yang Lam, and have fostered a program for racialized queer youth since 2019 under 'It's All Queer Pride'. Tygr Willy is a former troupe member of BoylesqueTO (2020), a house member of Boat Haus, and is called by some mentees; Drag Parent of 'Tygr Haus'. They've produced such events as; Passion Fruit TO, Color Me Now, and Thirst Nation, while also having done photography for FSU! Cabaret.

Tygr Willy's name stems from a play on words of their non-performer nickname – 'Ty', a pop-culture reference to the dating app 'Grindr' – 'gr', and a play on words to the character Tiger Lily from Peter Pan. They are a Non-Binary racialized performer, and notable as Toronto's Them Fatale.

Over my Burlesque career I've been fortunate enough to be captured by some brilliant photographers including; Ammarah Syed, Connie Tsang, Dylan Mitro, Greg Wong, Nicholas Merzetti, Quinton Cruickshanks, and Sly Pereira
